The feather in the cap of South Australian Junior Road Racing is the 99 Bikes Junior Super Series and this year will be no different! This year, a 4-round Series for Juniors will comprise of the HOYTS Road Race at The Bend Motorsport Park on October 2, the East End Street Race in Adelaide’s East End on October 22, The Eastlink Gawler Kermesse (Junior A & B only) on October 30, and the Bailey Abbott Unley Criterium on November 13.
Entries for the 2023 99 Bikes Junior Super Series will be by Series Pass or by individual entry per round, both available on Entryboss from next week. More information about the Series and Rounds is available in the 2022 99 Bikes Junior Super Series Technical Guide here, and final information will be available before each round in the published “Round Information Sheet” on each Round’s individual page of the Super Series website.
The 99 Bikes Junior Series is a series of Graded races, not raced specifically in Age Categories, which makes it both a great opportunity for experienced kids to race “up” against older Junior riders if they usually finds their Age Category not challenging enough, or for newer riders to cut their teeth against younger, experienced riders depending on their ability level.
As has been published in the Tech Guide, second-year Juniors (that’s kids who will be going up to the next Age Category in 2023) are able to use the gear from next year’s Age Category rather than be restricted to their 2022 rollout. As an example, a second year Under 15 who is racing in Junior A grade will be able to use the U17 rollout distance rather than the U15 distance.
