2020 Super Series Dates Announced

The 2020 Super Series might just scrape through these COVID-19 restrictions without much change at all! The trajectory that South Australia is on may well put us back to relatively normal sport by the time we get to September. With Team Registrations well underway (if you want to enter a team, start with the Expression of Interest form available here) and behind-the-scenes work already in progress for all of the rounds of this year’s Series, we’re excited to announce some preliminary dates!

Please note, with the National Road Series calendar still subject to change and us not wanting to clash with that in our Super Series planning, there may yet be some changes to the dates of these races.

Round I: Criterium, Pakapakanthi, September 12. The Series will kick off with a criterium (not a Points Race this year!) for the teams to get acquainted with their grades and maybe assert some dominance early!

Round II: Team Time Trial, Lenswood, September 19. This is the round most likely to change yet depending on NRS dates in mid-September. Hated by some, loved by others, never has a round of the Super Series been so polarising. How could we keep it? Well, how could we get rid of it!

Round III: Road Race, Wallaroo, October 10. The first race of the Copper Coast Cup and the only race with gravel in it, this is always a highlight of the Super Series – voted most popular round to race in 2019!

Round IV: Criterium, Queen Sq, Moonta, October 11. An updated course in 2020 will make for interesting racing as we award the winners of the Copper Coast Cup.

Round V: TBC

Round VI: Criterium, Aldinga Beach, October 31. New in 2019, we’re excited to return to Aldinga Beach with the support of the City of Onkaparinga!

Round VII: Kermesse, Gawler, November 8. An all-new course that we can guarantee has never been raced on before! More details to come about this one.

Round VIII: Criterium, Unley, November 22. You all raced it last year and the spectating was a great day out! With some council works scheduled to smooth up the road surface we’ll be taking all four corners flat out in 2020.

Round IX: Elite-Only Points Race, Pakapakanthi, December 4. To finish up the 2020 Super Series, the Elite grades will duke it out for a final grab at Series points in a Points Race, and we'll throw a bit of a party to celebrate everyone's success throughout the series.

Cycling SA is excited at the prospect of bike racing in Adelaide bouncing back fully in Spring 2020 and we will continue to keep you all updated as we confirm schedules, individual series pricing, sponsors and partners!
