Continuing with the round announcements for this year’s Super Series, Cycling South Australia is happy to announce the return of the popular Copper Coast Cup as part of the 2019 CSA Super Series! Comprising Saturday’s Wallaroo Road Race and Sunday’s Moonta Criterium on October 19 and 20, respectively, the Copper Coast Cup is a now iconic weekend of racing for South Australians.

The racing is made possible by the Copper Coast Council, who are instrumental in ensuring the race returns year after year to this idyllic landscape. Less than two hours’ drive from Adelaide at the top of the Yorke Peninsula, the Copper Coast is home to a number of cycling and walking trails, museums, art galleries and who could forget - some great beaches! It’s a great excuse to escape the city for a weekend, and catch some bike racing while you’re at it.

The closed-road Moonta Criterium takes place around the town square, with a great festival atmosphere in the rural town.

Cycling SA CEO, Lachie Ambrose, loves heading up to the Copper Coast. “Each year, the Copper Coast Cup is a great opportunity for our grassroots teams and new riders to dip their toes into multi-day racing. Those who have raced it before will know that this weekend of racing often proves make-or-break in their bid for a Super Series win, and I’m sure this year will be no different. We’re grateful for the support of the Copper Coast Council in making it possible to return to their beautiful corner of the state.”

For those who’re keen to make a weekend’s trip to the Copper Coast, more information regarding local accommodation and sightseeing is available here and more information about the local network of cycling trails can be found here

For those of who are still yet to submit teams in this year’s Super Series, don’t forget that Earlybird entries close on August 1, so save yourself and your team mates some cash and get those entries in now!
