SS23 - 9 CATEGORIES & 8 ROUNDS AT 2023 CERVELO SUPER SERIES
After our biggest ever Cervelo Super Series in 2022 (yes, that’s at least the 5th year in a row we’re saying it’s the biggest one ever, but it was!) which saw us extend the Series to a 9th Category of racing, we’re gearing up to do it all again this Spring!
This year’s Series will feature several races you already know and love, including kicking things off at Pakapakanthi, the double round we debuted last year at The Bend Motorsport Park, the Copper Coast Cup, the East End Street Race and the Unley Criterium. We’ll also be visiting a favourite local climb for a punchy little 4km Kermesse loop that you’re just going to have to wait a little to hear more about as we get some final details together.
We’re taking the Sprint Classification up a notch, with a Mischief Brew Sprint Jersey coming into play alongside the General Classification Overall Jersey, and we’ll continue to award points to Young Riders and an Over-Age Classification in each Race Category. The much-coveted Teams Champions Rings will make a comeback again, with all Classification sponsors to be confirmed and announced in the coming months (if you want to get your brand’s name in lights at this year’s Cervelo Super Series, now’s the time to get in touch).
The Team format will remain largely the same, with Elite, Cat 1 and Cat 2 teams to enter rosters of 8 riders for the duration of the Series. Some Rounds will allow for teams to field their entire Team List, and some will require selection of 6 riders from the 8. Cat 3 Teams will remain at 5 riders per team, with 4 riders selected for some Rounds.
We’ve dispensed with the EOI process this year, and will instead be barrelling straight into Team Entries which will open on June 1. Team Lists will be able to be submitted with your Team Entry, and the sooner we get your lists the sooner we can start to see how the grading of the Categories will shape up. Team Entry Pricing will be finalised prior to Team Entries opening, and will be announced very soon. Any Team wishing to get their invoice in and paid before EOFY is encouraged to contact sa.event@auscycling.org.au to ensure we’re aware of your invoicing needs.
More information about Round details, individual entry process and pricing, Junior Super Series and a final Tech Guide will be available in the coming weeks.
