Pakapakanthi To Play Host To Series Opener
Round 1 of the 2021 MetroMap Super Series is kicking things off at Pakapakanthi on the Victoria Park Crit Course. The honorary home of road racing in South Australia (or at least crits!) it is a course that’s burned into the memory, but one on which timing the run for the line will always prove a fickle finish to finesse. While last year’s round one was the Pakapakanthi Points Race, for 2021 we are keeping things simple and starting off with a criterium to get the series underway. With more grades than ever before, round one will be an action-packed day of racing from start to finish!
We are proud to have HOYTS Australia on board as round sponsor for round one of the 2021 MetroMap Super Series. They have offered up double passes for podium places in all races across the whole day, so if you get in the top three places in your race it’ll be off to the movies with you! With a new cinema now open at Arndale, there’s bound to be a HOYTS cinema near you.
GM of South Australia at Auscycling, Lachie Ambrose says “Like the Tour de France uses prologues to ease into the competition, we like to ease into the series with a Pakapakanthi Crit to provide a straightforward way for new hierarchies to be established. For those who need more than a bike race to keep themselves entertained, we’ve got some prize packs from Hoyts to ratchet up the stakes.”
With a couple of great coffee shops – The Velo Precinct and Kiosk on 16 - there is no shortage of food or drink options throughout the day for riders and spectators alike. Couple that with the historic Vic Park grandstand to view the racing across the day, and this is one not to be missed! We look forward to seeing you out at this one and the rest of the 2021 Super Series, and make sure you use #SuperSeries21 and tag @cyclingsuperseries in your social posts so we can see them all throughout the day!
