The Super Series Goes To The Beach: All-New Aldinga Beach Criterium Course Set To Deliver Seaside Racing

It’s always a focus of the CSA Super Series to deliver fresh, exciting racing for racers and spectators alike, and we have a good feeling about this one! In partnership with Healthy Active Lifestyles Onkaparinga, we are excited to announce the HALO Aldinga Beach Criterium, Round 6 of the 2019 Super Series, to be raced on Saturday, November 2. This all-new, 1km, 3-corner crit is right on the Esplanade at Aldinga, and depending on which way the wind goes could suit a fast bunch finish or a race of attrition!

Just one day before the BikeSA Fleurieu Fondo takes place a stone's throw away at McLaren Vale, this is a great opportunity to book a holiday house, spend the weekend down South and make a little getaway of it with the whole family!

Tocomplement the racing, Cycling SA have paired with Ride-a-Bike-Right to deliver somesessions for anyone to learn to ride - for free! They will be doing 45 minutesessions for people aged 4 and up to learn to ride a bike under the directionof accredited coaches, and in the middle of the day we'll have twoopportunities for local school-age kids to get out and have some fun on thecourse. Pre-registration will be necessary for these sessions, so keep youreyes peeled for a link here and on the Super Series facebook.

Theclosed-roads criterium course will be opened up to any school age kid on a biketo ride around at 12:30PM, followed by a one-lap individual time trial Hot Lapwhere kids will race the clock for one lap of the course on their own!

To double down on the Junior opportunities, this HALO Aldinga Beach Criterium will also serve as Round 3 of the 2019 Cycling SA Junior Super Series, with all details for the Series including entries, courses and a Junior Super Series Pass to be announced tomorrow.

CyclingSA CEO, Lachlan Ambrose, is excited at the prospect the beachfront racing: “Weare always looking for exciting new venues which offer a great sporting aspectwith a stunning backdrop. We think we've ticked both these boxes with thiscourse. In addition, we are excited to be working with the City of Onkaparingato support their HALO program, providing opportunities for adults and kids toget confident riding their bikes with the help of Ride-a-Bike-Right!”

CSA is excited to deliver racing at this new crit venue and are grateful to both Healthy Active Living Onkaparinga and the local business owners on the course - Century 21 SouthCoast, SOURC’D Wine & Coffee Bar, Aldinga Bay Café and Breeze Café and Bar – for their support of this event.
