The Junior Super Series Returns Bigger And Better in 2019!

The back half of the 2019 Super Series is nice and tidy – 4 criteriums in 5 weeks, including two at all-new street circuits – so CSA has taken the opportunity to deliver our most comprehensive Junior Super Series yet!

U9 and U11 riders will race in their age categories (remember, as of October 1 all racing is conducted under 2020 age groups!), and U13, U15 and U17 riders will compete in Junior A, B and C mixed grades. Points will be awarded towards an overall Series standing, and the top 3 girls in each grade will be recognised at each round’s presentations.

Round 1, the Vic Park XL Criterium, is not your average Victoria Park criterium! On Sunday, October 27, racers will tackle the short course, before turning left at the northern end instead of right and heading out onto a fully-closed Wakefield Rd, up the hill, and turning around toward the Britannia Roundabouts. They’ll do another hairpin turn to come through the northern gate and back onto the finish straight to complete each lap in front of the grandstand!

The following weekend is Round 2, the HALO Aldinga BeachCriterium, the first of the all-new crit venues. On Saturday, November 2, a3-corner 1km course will be set up on the Esplanade at Aldinga Beach. With theBikeSA Fleurieu Fondo on the next day in McLaren Vale, this is a greatopportunity to spend the weekend down South with the family!

There’s a two-week break before Round 3 at Murray Bridge on Sunday, November 17, where the Juniors will take on the famous Sturt Reserve Criterium course on the river as the seniors have done for the last couple of years. Not only is the racing right on the beautiful Murray River, the reserve is home to the Murray Bridge Bunyip!

Finishing up the Series for 2019 the following Sunday is theinaugural Unley Oval Reserve Criterium! On Sunday, November 24, both the SuperSeries and the Junior Super Series will finalise their standings at this crit onthe wide streets around Unley Oval Reserve. With racing right in the innersuburbs, plenty of food and drink on offer and hopefully some excellent late-Springweather, this is going to be a big carnival-like atmosphere to round out the 2019Super Series season.

Entries are now open for all grades of the Super Series, and a Series Pass is available right up until entries close at 11:59PM on Wednesday, October 23. Purchasing a Series Pass will get you four of the best Junior races in the State for the price of three!
