Butterfield-Appselec looking to liven things up

Butterfield-Appselec may have had a name change but come into the 2019 Super Series looking to leave their mark on the race. South Australia's only National Road Series team for 2019, the team will look to carry the form over into the state series and liven up the many crits which often decide the series.

Team manger Lachlan Ambrose will be the first to admit the team don't have a clear cut superstar sprinter which will make being competitive in the overall series a challenge. However he has high hopes for youngster Tristan Saunders in his first year with the team. Saunders is quick from a reduced bunch and has had some impressive results this year including runner up at the South Australian Kermesse Champs as well as taking out the win at the Keith Thurgood Classic earlier in the year.

A key lieutenant for Saunders in the criteriums will be Mark Sampson as the two work on perfecting the leadout. Sampson loves a Vic Park crit so look for him and Saunders to combine at the round one points race on the 21st of September.

Familiar faces will lead the charge at the team favourite Cooper Coast Classic with NRS stage winner Jason Thomason looking to make use of the harder terrain as well as Iven Bennett who enjoys the tougher courses.

The team are particularly excited for the round 2 team-time trial which presents a vital opportunity for those without a sprinter to gain some valuable points in the overall teams competition.

Familiar names of Rylan Dowdell, Ethan Egglestone and Liam Lawlor will use their experience to help others whilst Whyalla youngster Daniel Siwek continues to make strong improvements in his first year at national level.

Van D'am have been a growing presence at the NRS level and have always looked to support local racing. The team relish the opportunity to compete for a state series competition as they hope to cement their position as one of the best teams in South Australia.
