Team Time Trial Time!

This Sunday at Lenswood is Round 5 of the 8 round series – and the one and only team time trial round. On the back of a fantastic Victoria Park criterium, which saw lots of movements in the series standings, this round is sure to shake things up even further.“This course announcement was met with much excitement, and we’ve had a lot of feedback from the teams who have pre-ridden the course, and it is definitely going to be a divisive finish to the race,” says Cycling SA CEO, Lachie Ambrose. “It’s definitely a day for the climbers and I hope those who are afraid of gravity can find it in their hearts to forgive me!”It is the first time Lenswood has hosted a Super Series round, and the first time the team time trial has incorporated a hill! We look forward to seeing the tactical decisions that the teams will make: will the teams commit for the stage win and leave their sprinters behind? Or do they nurse their GC riders up the hill in the interests of the overall classifications?Riders will start at the Lenswood Oval/Cricket Club and ride the entire length of Swamp Road. Framed by apple and pear orchards, the course works its way through rolling hills before taking a turn at the finish to head up Stentiford Hill -- the hill is just over 1km averaging over 10%.Team start times are now available on: http://www.cyclingsuperseries.com.au/round-5-lenswood/
