Van D'am Racing ready to make their mark

Local South Australian National Road Series team Van D'am Racing p/b Butterfields are looking to make an attacking mark on the 2018 Super Series.

Van D’am Racing is South Australia’s only elite under 25 cycling team. Not just focused on results, Van D’am Racing is committed to developing balanced cyclists by providing opportunities for them to not only grow as riders but also members of the wider community. Founded in 2015, the team has consistently improved over the past two seasons. With an expanded and more experienced list, they will continue our push to be in the top five teams nationally in 2018.

Coming in with a young but strong roster, the team will be represented by their local South Australian riders throughout the series. Led by the experienced heads of Rylan Dowdell and Jason Thomason, they will look to aid the younger riders out and guide them through the tough rounds.

Having already pulled some strong rides throughout the year at the Victorian Road Series, including a third place at the infamous Baw Baw Classic, the team are hoping to use their National Road Series experience to mount a strong campaign.

Iven Bennett and Lachlan Darch provide the team with strong time-trialists and will look to put this to good use during the round 5 team time trial. Mark Sampson and Liam Lawlor provide solid sprint options for the six criteriums which are tipped to be intense bunch sprints.

Ethan Egglestone will hope to use his climbing talent in the road race and aid the team to make the racing hard. Young unknown and Whyalla local Daniel Swiek rounds out the team and will no doubt gain lots of experience at the high level of racing.

The team is backed by South Australian air conditioning maintenance Butterfields as well as Victorian electrical engineering company Appselec. Brentnalls SA and O'Connor Harvesting continue as long term sponsors and Peak Super have come on board as a new partner for 2018.

We will continue to preview all division 1 teams across the three categories as we countdown to the 2018 Super Series.
