Copper Coast Cup A Huge Success!
What a weekend! We’re still getting the dust out of everything, but what a huge two days of racing just gone. Once again, the Copper Coast Cup has not disappointed, delivering the biggest weekend of our level of road bike racing in SA. We’re very grateful to have the support of the Copper Coast Council to help us put on this race weekend, and without them it simply wouldn’t happen. A massive thanks to all of our volunteers and officials who make the racing possible, as well as the local vollies who helped us to close the roads for the race on Saturday to happen!
Saturday’s road race was the second biggest we have ever run (only beaten by The Bend at last year’s Super Series) and certainly the largest Wallaroo Road Race ever. Over 300 of you took to the racing over the weekend, and we’re over the moon that the Copper Coast Cup continues to grow and involve more and more participants. While the gravel (more sand in some sections!) was certainly challenging, the racing was hard and fast with most bunches splintering into small groups, often early in each race.
The crit around the Town Square on Sunday was once again an absolute pearler of a day, while those back in Adelaide were whipped by wind and rain it was more about preventing sunburn than anything else on a sunny and mostly still day on the Copper Coast. There was plenty of action to catch with bikes coming past every minute for most of the day, and electrifying finishes with the signature race finish seeming a late breakaway getting swamped in the final stages of the race and a big bunch kick for the win.

Again, our thanks to the Copper Coast Council for all of their support of the Copper Coast Cup weekend of racing, and thanks to all of you for coming up and making it one to remember!
