Riders Return To Finesse The MetroMap Super Series Gawler Kermesse

After its triumphant debut in 2020, The Gawler Eastlink Kermesse is back for seconds in 2021!

The course proved to be a true test of a riders resilience, living up to its great expectations. The course was truly testing of the legs with its mix of rolling hills and a punchy climb up to the finish line each lap. Across the day of racing, we saw a range of race tactics play out across the course. The wind was mild but the exposed roads with little shade had the mild temps punching above their Celsius as the day went on. The 2021 edition will be held a fortnight earlier than in 2020, so fingers crossed the temperature will stay nice and cool across the days racing. For all the details on the first edition of the Gawler Eastlink Kermesse last year, and what to expect this time around - Read our race report of the 2020 edition here!

On top of the racing, we'll begin the day with "Ride The Eastlink" an open community ride where locals can sign up to ride on the rolling hills of the course on the same closed-road conditions as the race will. Only 100 spots are available, so if you want to get your chance to ride on the Eastlink without worrying about cars, make sure you get in quick!

Super Series Race Director Jake Thomas is positive about the Kermesse's return, saying "It's only our second time in Gawler with the Super Series, and we are grateful for the opportunity to race on closed roads thanks to the support of the Town of Gawler." These events wouldn't be possible without the fantastic support of our council sponsors, so we extend our gratitude to our council partners Town of Gawler Council!

We are excited to return for another year and see the continued development of the area!
