Super Series To Return, Team EOIs Open for 8 Categories

After the success of 2020’s Super Series amid an uncertain year, we’re excited at the prospect of a slightly more normal Super Series in 2021. Many of your favourite locations will return, one all-new location is being worked through right now (trust us, it’s going to be worth the wait), and some will be happy to see one particular Team Time Trial course missing from the lineup!

The 2021 Super Series will take in 8 full rounds and a finale, with an updated Team offering for Cat 3 Men and Women, and the same Elite, Cat 1 and Cat 2 grades you know and love. We’ll once again have Classifications for Sprint, Young Rider, Masters Age Categories and a now accumulative award for Most Aggressive in each grade, as well as the General Classification and Teams Classification up for grabs in each grade.

In Elite, Cat 1 and Cat 2, Teams will register a roster of up to 8 riders for the Series and choose 6 of those riders to race at most of the rounds like last year’s racing, and for the first time this year Cat 3 Teams will be able to enter a roster of up to 5 riders with 4 of those riders racing at each round. The Cat 3 racing will also include all of the Classifications racing mentioned above, and will race at all 8 rounds of the 2021 Super Series.

The 2021 Super Series will begin on Saturday, the 11^th of September at Pakapakanthi with a straight-up criterium on the short course before heading to the Copper Coast earlier than usual the following weekend for a new course at Wallaroo on Saturday, September 18 and the two-block Moonta Crit returns on Sunday, September 19. A short break until Saturday, October 9 sees all grades get to race a Points Race at Pakapakanthi before we head to the beach for the Aldinga Beach Criterium on Saturday, October 23. The next week we’ll race the kermesse on the Gawler Eastlink on the 30^th, before a new criterium venue scheduled for Sunday, November 7. The final round of the Series proper will be the return of last year’s cancelled Unley Oval Reserve Criterium before the two Elite grades send off the Series in style with an Omnium-style Points Race at Pakapakanthi to decide their General Classification winner.

We are hoping to have a less interrupted season in 2021, bringing back some of the things that we put on hold in 2020, and continuing to add interesting and unique race locations. "
