The State Of The Super Series Standings With One To Go!

There are some unassailable leadsafter yesterday's racing, with Aneeka Smith (Cat 2 Women), Josiah Whittaker(Cat 2 Men) and Matt Sparnon (Cat 2 Masters) now unable to lose their Seriesleads, and Chloe Moran (Elite Women) has just one threat to her lead - multipleWorld Champion Ash Ankudinoff is the only rider within 20 points!

The Cat 1 Masters race saw its firstnew GC leader in Daryl Margrate since Round 1, on an equal 110 points with JPJacobs, and the Series win will come from one of those two with the only threatin JPs teammate, Andrew Friebe. In the Elite Men's race Tristan Saunders hastaken over the lead from an absent Jarrad Drizners - who had also been leadingfrom the gun – but it’s not over yet. With four riders within 20 points,Saunders will have to do some mental calculations during Sunday afternoon's CSA Super Series Final Round: Unley Oval ReserveCriterium to stay in the lead and take out the overall prize.

With 6 Sprint points up for grabs in each of the Senior races on Sunday and 3 points in each of the age categories (Masters, Over 50 and Young Rider) the race is still on nearly across the board, with at least one category still open in every grade except Masters 2. The Elite Women’s Sprint classification has been particularly animated, with only two riders taking points in more than one round – none other than home-grown heros Anette Edmondson and Maeve Plouffe! It’s still anyone’s game, with 7 riders within striking distance of the classification win.

The Junior Super Series is being run with the last four rounds of the 2019 Super Series.

Over at the Junior Super Series therehave been some commanding performances across the board, and great racing fromeveryone from the Under 9s all the way through to the U17s racing in Junior Agrade. Josh Cranage is the only threat to Sam Golding's lead in Junior Boys’ Agrade, with Jacqui Voltz and Mirella Willis-Hell both in contention for the JuniorGirls’ A grade Series win.

Michael Mervyn Bryant wrapped up theJunior Boys’ B grade Series win with another impeccable race at Murray Bridgeyesterday, and Annabelle Kelly will have to defend her lead from SummerNordmeyer this Sunday to win the Junior Girls’ B grade Series.

In the Junior C grades, Will Brownand Angus Corbett have been trading places for the first a second steps on the Boys’podium, with Tara Fitzpatrick and Paige Squire both knocking on Gabrielle Mahney’sdoor for the Girls’ race. Ryan Underwood is nearly untouchable in the lead ofthe Under 11 Boys’ race, with Emelia Brinkley running yet uncontested for theUnder 11 Girls’ grade. Austen Decker has shown he can mix it with the Under 11severy round even as an Under 9!

With only one round left in this year’s Super Series, wehope you can make it out to Unley this Sunday to see who will emerge victoriousas we take to the suburban streets around Unley Oval for the very first time!
