Chateau Yaldara Signs up for Masters and 050 Categories!

Cycling SA first approached Chateau Yaldara to be the closing round of the 2019 series. We were very much disappointed when logistical complications prevented the round from happening - as we were already imagining kicking back on their lawns with a bottle of their shiraz once the last race was won, and the final barriers packed away. Whilst a Lyndoch round didn’t eventuate, Chateau Yaldara kindly came on board as a Super Series sponsor, providing prizes for the Masters and Over 50 categories throughout the series.

“Cycling SA are really grateful for the support and enthusiasm that Chateau Yaldara has extended for our series this year,” says Cycling SA CEO Lachie Ambrose. “Working with local companies like Chateau Yaldara to bring this series to fruition is really exciting. We were very dissapointed that we couldn't host a round at their beautiful venue, we are really excited that they still wanted to be involved in the series!”

Hermann Thumm founded Chateau Yaldara in1947 after he migrated to Australia , and named the chateau ‘Yaldara’ after thelocal Aboriginal word meaning ‘sparkling’. The site chosen for the winery wason the banks of the North Para River at a flax mill dating back to 1867.
